Avid Artist Color and DaVinci 8
Might be a bit early, but has anyone had a go with Resolve with Avid Artist Color?

I upgraded the EuControl software (v2.6) and the firmware for the panel and then I got everything to work.
An XML from an old FCP project I graded with Apple Color translated perfectly into Resolve 8. The Red footage set to redcolor2 and redlogFilm looked spectacular after a quick grade.I’m really happy with how easy and powerful it is.
(We use the GTX285 in a 8-core 2.4 MacPro attached to xSan via Fibre Channel) -

Question about V8 tho… Is it that it performs better with the more GFX cards you feed it.
so if i stick another openCL card in my macpro performance will boost ?

The OpenCL implementation is limited to a single image processing card. If you want more performance add more Quadro 4000 cards, which are CUDA based. You can have up to three in the Mac OS X and 16 in Linux.

My next question to BMD is will they support AJA products at all in resolve …?
my kona LHi is a lovely piece of hardware and i truly hope BMD makes resolve an open piece of software that will use it ……If not im screwed because i need pro output to grade. and will have to stay with color for a while, till i figure out what to do…

Hi Jörgen,
Can you give more information about the Avid Artist panel and the use with the Resolve. I can’t find any real documentation or videos regarding the work-flow.
How easy is the use of it with the Resolve? Do you have access to all the menus ? can you customize buttons? can you compare it to the wave panel?
maybe you can upload some images .. 🙂
