…especially not a few weeks short of NAB where you will have to be in full voice to be heard over the gawkers, hawkers and really loud talkers.
Let’s just say that people are still getting their posts answered. There is no strata of user that is not getting a huge aggregate of people seeing and available to answer the questions — and are.

You didn’t offend me, James. I am just very direct and want people to understand that this is a business and if they are not paying for it, someone else is.
You aren’t the first person to run AdBlocker software but as time goes on, it becomes clearer to us that many sites that tried to do what we do are now premium sites that charge — we still don’t. We can do that because of the ads. They are not a nuisance, they are the reason that everyone gets this free.
That’s all I am trying to say, James. It was not personal and I didn’t mean what I said to be personal. It is merely that this costs a lot of money to run each month. Our authors and writers are paid, our staff is paid, our bandwidth suppliers and hardware suppliers get paid. It all has to come from somewhere.
That reality is unavoidable and we need to make that clear as we work on our redesign.
Thanks James and my apologies if my comments came across as a personal attack, they were merely a knee-jerk reaction to the thought of everyone using blockers. ;o)

And never will. Please do not work on one, Abraham. In fact, we should make it to where AdBlocker users find NONE of our pages or videos showing up, just an image of an old TV with no picture, just noise, and a thank you for NOT supporting Creative COW.

If we support ad-less viewing, we can turn off the COW and all get back to our analog lives — at least the parts that we spend in the COW.
There are premium sites on the net that charge you and do not have ads. We aren’t one of them. There are no free lunches, if you don’t pay then we have to — and we pass that cost to our sponsors who underwrite the cost of supporting all of the 2 million users a month that visit all of our FREE content.

Me, I’d opt for taking the hands-on course from the Global Cinematography Institute headed by Yuri Neyman ASC and Vilmos Zsigmond ASC. (Vilmos was voted by his peers as one of the ten most influential cinematographers in history. He won an Oscar® in ’77 for Close Encounters of the third kind and was nominated three other times for The Deer Hunter, The River and The Black Dahlia. In 1999 the ASC gave him their Lifetime Achievement Award.)
It’ll cost you a couple of grand to take the course but you’ll be learning from some of the most respected masters of the craft.

There are also utilities that you can install (such as smcFanControl) to control the fan speed in your Mac. (There are different ones for different models, so look around.) smcFanControl not only lets you have better control over your fans but also give you an ongoing read out of your Mac’s temperature so that you can manually override it, if necessary.

You are always free to tell us where and how to name the nomenclature. It is appreciated.
We usually wait until the users prod us with cattle-prods or sharp sticks, a few have been known to dip them in tallow or lard before setting them aflame.

If you would like to put Corel articles and tutorials in the library, we’d like to add them.
We pay 1¢ per view for tutorials in our library.
Also, we have added a “catch-all” forum for Corel products here at the COW — though there hasn’t been much talk about them here at the COW. (Though articles always helps get the talk started and up to now, we haven’t had Corel content in our library.)
