Some threads not showing up?
Posted by Walter Soyka on March 1, 2012 at 7:23 pmThere are a few threads that I can see on the mobile version but which do not appear in the forum’s thread list in the regular version.
Here’s an example:

March 1, 2012 at 7:27 pmHello Walter,
There’s a new setting that is taking effect throughout the site. You can find it in your account settings called “Hide Newbie Posts”. This setting is checked for everyone by default. This also effects what threads you are notified of as a leader.

That it wasn’t there has been driving a whole lot of other people nuts.

March 6, 2012 at 8:20 pmWhat defines a Newbie Posts? Is it a Newbie question or is it just simply a post from a new member of the COW?

March 6, 2012 at 8:34 pmIf we told you the formula, we would have to cut out your tongue and we do not relish the idea of that, Stephen. ;o)
…especially not a few weeks short of NAB where you will have to be in full voice to be heard over the gawkers, hawkers and really loud talkers.
Let’s just say that people are still getting their posts answered. There is no strata of user that is not getting a huge aggregate of people seeing and available to answer the questions — and are.

March 6, 2012 at 8:41 pmThank goodness you will only cut out my tongue. That way I still have fingers to grab the free pens at NAB. Non-stop had the best pens last year.
