If you pasted your mocha shape data via CTRL+V, you will get an instance of the effect, “mocha shape”. It reads like this is what you did. Hence, there is no mask keyframes. Rather, your keyframes will be within the mocha shape effect.

The following was posted at the AE Mailling list by Jim Curtis –

“I noticed the AJA 10.4.5 Control Panel was now available for download. I installed it and reinstalled the AJA Adobe plugin 10.4.5 again, and now I can import ProRes movies without the error, and I got my external monitoring back.”

Those using other i/o should look at getting updated drivers.

Jim Curtis has just reported at the AE Mailist that installing the recently available AJA 10.4.5 Control Panel resolved AE CC’s inability to read/write ProRes files and fixed his external monitoring issues.

Rule # 1 is to create your AI files as large is you require them to be without having to scale them up. Oftentimes, the actual size you require cannot be forethought. Hence, AE allows for scaling AI files beautifully – provided the CT (or Continuously Rasterize) switch is enabled.

As for your issue with AE files losing camera perspectives, it is likely that you have forgotten to make the precomp a 3D layer.

It is insufficient that the higher level comp (or nested comp) is 3D AND it had CT enabled. When CT is enabled for a nested comp, AE reaches into the precomp to calculate transforms. Hence, if your precomp is 2D, this 2D-ness will be translated into the higher level comp.

You should use as few masks as possible. Then look at keyframing the mask’s Path property to change its shape/position.

You shouldn’t be using AE for this sort of audio. If it was a few seconds then that’s OK but for something like this, you will want to use a software that allows for playback of the audio files without requiring a render.

You should look at using Adobe Audition or PPro. You will then have to manually fade in/out the levels of one of the files as and when required. This is standard operational procedure and the main work of editing/mixing audio tracks.

Having said that, you can use Expressions in AE to automate fades to the soundFx track but there’s a good chance that you will still want to tweak the fade ins/outs.

Well … at least we know one thing more. After a wee bit of digging, it looks like Maxon are suggesting a re-installation of full-featured C4D app. It’s a shame cos, Imagineer allows a user to choose which version of mocha to link to AE, from mocha’s prefs. One would think that Maxon would have taken this path.

Have you tried the old trick of placing a plugin within ( ) to prevent AE from loading the plugin?

On a PC, my folder structure (which I assume will be the same for Windows users) for C4D is such – Adobe After Effects CC > Support Files > Plug-ins > MAXIN CINEWARE AE > CINEWARE Support > lite

To prevent C4D lite from being loaded, it should read
Adobe After Effects CC > Support Files > Plug-ins > MAXIN CINEWARE AE > CINEWARE Support > (lite)

There’s no guarantee that AE will ping the alternative C4D installation but it’s worth a try.
