You can only Paint/Clone in the Layer Panel. So … ensure that you double-click (or double-click + ALT – depending on how you’ve set up your Preferences) on the nested comp to open it in a Layer Panel.

Try Radial Blur (set its Type to “Zoom” – not the default “Spin”). You may also want to include CC Motion Blur into the mix.

Which Corner Pin option are you exporting from mocha? Have you scaled any of the insert (text/signage) layers? I’m asking these because I am trying to ascertain why your insert layer looks pixelated.

Other than answering the Qs it will also be good to have a look at the Timeline. It will be good if you can post a screencap of your Timeline which includes details of all the relevant properties.

I don’t have a solution but a faster way is to import all the MPEGs into a folder in AE and do the replacement, one at a time within AE. Not ideal but it’ll be a lot faster than going through an eternal list of import dialog boxes.

A delivery format should be based on the delivery platform or device. IOW, it all depends on the client.

If it’s for archival then there are more options available. QuickTime with the PNG CODEC is nice but for wider compatibility across applications and platforms, an image sequence is preferred.

Try these steps:

A) Ensure that you have the latest updates.
Test the clips. If problem persists –
B) Delete Preferences -press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT
Test the clips. If problem persists –

Try this –
1) Hit the SHIFT key and hold it down THROUGHOUT the steps UNTIL
2) Go to Edit Menu and select Preferences>General
3) Once you are in the Prefs dialog window, ensure that you can see the item SECRET at the bottom of the Prefs List
4) Release SHIFT key.
5) Select the Secret at the bottom of the list. Switch on Disable Layer Cache.
Test the clips.

Report back.

I’m glad you’ve solved your issue. I’d like to add that when exporting Transform Data to AE, other than deleting Anchor Point keyframes, you should also reset the value of the Anchor Point – if you’ve used a Null, the value should be [0,0]. You could of course right-click on the value and selected Reset from the Contextual Menu.

Most tutorials skip this reset. The benefit of the reset is that the Null now visually moves directly over the tracked area. There is no benefit to the tracking result but the Null’s position is now positioned more intuitively as it conforms 1-1 to the tracked area.

Hi Andrea, the in/out points in mocha should be created in the Layer Properties panel and NOT directly in mocha’s Timeline, which creates in/out for the clip but NOT the shape.

Secondly, the mocha Shape keyfames (KFs)in AE look like they’ve been deleted. Did you delete the KFs. If you did, pay attention the mocha Shape’s Opacity property which is the property that is used to switch off the shape (or to create an out point in your case), to conform the the in/out that you specified in mocha’s Layer Properties Panel.

Do not confuse between an AE layer’s Transform>Opacity property and the Opacity property found in the mocha Shape effect.

If the mocha Shape Opacity property does not have a keyframe with a value of 0, you can manually create it yourself. Simply set the KF value to 0 at the point where you want your out point. Then select all the subsequent keyframes for the Opacity property and delete those keyframes.

1) BTW, is the error appearing consistently for a particular clip or for others as well?

2) Try replacing the error-prone clip with another source to see if indeed it is the clip. If the clip is indeed a dud, replace it with another copy is ideally from another HD location.

More info will be good –
1) what are you doing when this error occurs?
2) what effects, masks, transforms are applied?
3) does the error occur when the layer is solo-ed?
4) does the error occur at a specific time in the timeline?
