Using clone tool/brush on whole composition
Hello!
My composition has numerous layers but I want to use my clone tool on the whole composition, is there a way to do this? (I know you can do this by choosing one layer and drawing something on it but I want to draw on the whole composition – just as if it was a single layer)

Nest the composition into another composition and paint on the precomposition layer.

Hello! Thank you for your quick answer! I’ve created a precompositions that consists of other composition layers. I click on the precomposition (so that it’s in a single window) but still can’t paint on it. Whenever I choose the brush, the mouse icon doesn’t change and I can’t paint or use the clone tool.
What am I doing wrong?

You can only Paint/Clone in the Layer Panel. So … ensure that you double-click (or double-click + ALT – depending on how you’ve set up your Preferences) on the nested comp to open it in a Layer Panel.
