You will need to apply Text Operators. You find them in the Timeline, to the right of each Text Layer, within the small Add button menu. From here, you can select to have different colors for your front, back and bevel as well as opacity and material settings.

FWIW, I recently sent in a Feature Request asking for Range Selectors to be a part of the Repeater Shape Operator. This Range Selector will work analogously with the Text Tool’s Range Selector. I then asked for Opacity as well as Color to be part of the properties within the Repeater. This will then allow us to work effectively and creatively within the Repeater.

You’ve got six icons and the final image has 12 equidistant pointed edges. You could morph each icon into a rectangle which would represent two of the 12 final edges.

The answer(s) depends on how you’ve set up the Shape Layers. If you post a screen grab of the Shape Layers’ contents, then it’ll be a lot clearer. Specifically, I’d need to know how the circles and lines are connected and what is with each Shape Layer.

Here are a couple of tips on creating such effects –
1) use a combination of linear and radial wipe transitions
2) combine (1) with a stroke applied to the shape layer PLUS Trim Paths to animate the stroke. ensure that you remove the Fill from the Shape Layer.
3) use masks to separate different parts of the text character. you will need different layers for different parts of the text character.

(2) is fastest to achieve – so look into using these first.

Convert font/text into Shape Layers before starting on the effect.

Meh?! Speculation – at best. 😉

Do the screen grabs if you want to solve your issues quicker. If you’re feeling lazy, then try to look at the Render Settings Dialog and ensure that Quality is set to Best and Use Proxies is set to None – of course, ensure that you have replaced or linked the necessary input files.

Not an expert but decent enough to provide a few pointers –

1) Diagonal bars can be done with Repeaters and Wiggle Transform. Ensure that Wiggle Transform is applied after Repeater. Set Wiggles per Second to zero. Mess about with Wiggle’s Position and Scale props.

I should add that oftentimes, it is best to create such an effect using individual Shape Contents/Layers as this provides more control.

2) The Diamonds Transition looks like a single layer effect that has been nested, duplicated, re-positioned and the in-points staggered.

Other tips –
1) Use the standard wipe transitions where applicable as these are much easier to set up.

2) creating a single instance of a layer and its transforms/effect and then duplicating, staggering in-points and off-setting positions are a routine for most of the ‘busy’ transitions that you see
