Thanks for chiming in. Essentially, I have to use these two parts to create a transition.

Visualize this –
The two parts come in, off screen, from their respective upper left and lower right corners and converge in the middle. They rotate a little so that when they converge for about a frame or two the cover the entire screen – never mind if the outer edges get cutoff.

They then move away form each other to end where they are now.

So, yeah, there’s got to be some rotation to allow the bevelled parts to match up to each other.

Creating a matte for the inner layers may do the trick. Then apply Effect->Channel->Set Matte to these inner layers.

I just checked Trapcode’s site and it says that 3D Stroke will be updated in the summer. Reading between the lines, it means that the plugin has issues that needs to be ironed out. And the solution will be out in the summer.

Nothin more nor less was mentioned on their site. you may want to visit Trapcode’s forum, here at the COW to see if you can get the specifics.

And like I mentioned, you can always use ver7.

Same as before – there shouldn’t be any change. You’ll have to state EXACTLY what issues you’re having rather than giving a general, “I have a problem” statement.

Having said that, Peder, from Trapcode has stated that a few of Trapcode’s plugins will be updated in due time.

And if things are getting messy and time is a rush, just use ver7.0.

Still not following you. I’ll make a recommendation –

You’ve provided what looks like two distinct images – one over another; one smaller than the other.

Now for the Qs –
1) What is your desired output size, relative to what you have provided?
1A) Is it bigger/smaller than the larger/smaller image?
1B) or is it the same as one of the TWO images shown?

Without waiting for you answers, may I suggest that you try to apply by double-clicking the QuickMask Tool while the layer that you want to apply a border to is selected. Then apply EffectGenerate->Stroke, and changing the Width parameter to suit your needs.

Another option, which is to enlarge the size of your inner image, is to apply MotionTile to the inner/smaller layer and increasing the Output Width and Output Height settings to suit your needs.

Yup! I think the dimensions are fine for its purpose. It’s the DPI that’s redundant.
