See page 83 of the manual. If you set the recording format to mp3, all you’ll get is a single stereo mp3 file. You must set the recording format to wav to get the separate tracks. Why do you think you need to update the firmware? First try changing your recording format to wav. That won’t help with recordings done in the past, but should eliminate the problem in the future.

My previous post, I forgot to mention I was curious because you mentioned a single file, not multiple files, like the H6 saves to the card.

How did you import the file? Did you place the card from the H6 into a card reader? It sounds like you’re just using the stereo mix.
There are new folders generated each time you record, with separate folders inside each for each audio channel. For example, my most recent project where I saved recordings to FOLDER01, each time I started recording a new folder is generated inside FOLDER01. I had ten different times I pressed record, so I had folders ZOOM0001-ZOOMK0010 for the days work. Then inside each of those folders, is a separate WAVE file for each channel that had an input. I was using 3 microphones, plugged into input 1, input 3, and input 4. So inside each ZOOM001 folder is a separate wave file for each mic.
The files in folder ZOOM0001 are named like this: ZOOM0001_Tr1.WAV, ZOOM0001_Tr3.WAV, and ZOOM0001_Tr4.WAV.
This naming of files was repeated all the way until folder ZOOM0010 where there’s ZOOM0010_Tr1.WAV, ZOOM0010_Tr3.WAV etc.
So, input each separate file from the card. Most of my jobs, I don’t need to use the separate files for each mic because the stereo mix going to my camera is satisfactory. But, I have them when I need them.
Hope this helps.

April 14, 2020 at 12:31 pm in reply to: No regions in DaVinci? Then how to log footage?Hi Tim,
You said you are new to Resolve, so I’m thinking you may not know how to customize the Media Pool to the way you want it. Yours is probably set to thumbnail view. You can change it to list view where you will have rows and columns like a spreadsheet. Only a few of the available columns are active by default. If you right click near the top, play around until you have your mouse in the correct spot, a big drop down window will open up with lots of columns you can turn on. I just turn on Display Name and put my notes in that field. There are other fields you can turn on, Take, Scene, Good Take etc., but I find just using the Display Name has enough room for my notes: for example, I’d enter something like “CEO of Company X: Opening remarks”, “Sales Manager: KIckoff of new marketing strategy” etc.
Hope this helps.

March 7, 2020 at 2:01 am in reply to: NAB Cancellation Thread: From Adobe, AJA, and Avid to Zaxcom. And of course NAB themselves! The panic mentality has really taken hold. At least this time I’m no longer working in a laboratory up to my ears in nasal swabs like during the avian flu panic about 12 or so years ago. Just today, a really big Conference/Trade Show cancelled in my (and Bob’s) neck of the woods too:

November 27, 2019 at 1:38 pm in reply to: What do DaVinci Editors use in place of PhotoShop?I use Photoshop Elements instead of full Photoshop. Has same keyboard commands as Photoshop, with at least 90% of the functionality. It has all the functions I’m interested in. The Organizer part of Elements has some of the functionality of Lightroom. I can import Raw files from my camera into the Organizer, then when the Editing module loads the Raw file, it has a pre-processing module that has the Lightroom tools, at least the ones I use.
This time of year, I suspect Photoshop Elements is dirt cheap. I upgrade about every four years.

I read the Newsweek article and the Forbes article you posted. They’re hype.
What Johns Hopkins Administrators had to say is no more surprising than what Cleveland Clinic Administrators said 4 or 5 years ago about Theranos. But not all are gullible. Sometimes people have other motives. A former head of the CDC was on the board of Theranos, along with out present Secretary of Defense, 2 past Secretaries of State, etc. At one time Theranos was worth about ten billion dollars.
Maybe you ought to type “Theranos Scandal” into your favorite browser search bar and read some of those articles. You’d see a great similarity with your articles on surgical robots and the early articles of Theranos, like this one from Forbes:
What Forbes said July 2014: https://www.forbes.com/sites/matthewherper/2014/07/02/bloody-amazing/#1ce5e4797226
Of course, it was all technological hype.
Here’s what Forbes has to say more recently:
What Forbes said in April: https://www.forbes.com/sites/hershshefrin/2018/04/14/the-theranos-con/#2d8a77552314
Be skeptical of hype. Technology isn’t magic. It’s an assortment of tools.
I spent many more years in the lab than I ever have in the edit bay. Thousands upon thousands of hours more behind the microscope than behind the camera. I’ve operated dozens and dozens of robotic systems thousands and thousands of times. I’m skeptical of those articles.
