I have my Ninja 2 hooked up to the GH4
The GH4 is set to 59.94 Hz (NTSC) with DNxHD or ProRes Codec in the Ninja.
If the GH4 is set to record AVCHD internally, you can use
1080P 23.98p the Sensor output is 23.98p
1080i 59.94 the Ninja records 1080p29.97
1080P 59.94 the Ninja shows No Input

with the GH4 set to record MP4 internally, you can only record 720p59.94 with the Ninja

with the GH4 set to record MOV internally, you can only record 1080p23.98

With the Nija set to 50Hz (PAL) and using either Ninja codec
I can record 1080p25 using the camera set for AVCHD 1080i and Sensor output of 50p or with Sensor output set at 25p.
I get No Input with the camera set for 50P
Using camera set for MP4 the best I can record with the Ninja is 720p50
I get “No Input” for MOV

Changing to 4:2:2 10 bit while still using PAL,
I get “No Input” for MOV.
MP4 will only record 720p50.
AVCHD will only record 1080p25

I got the GH3 with 14-140 and the D5300 went on the shelf although I think the Video quality was slightly better and High ISO much better on the Nikon.

I then bought the SpeedBooster to use my Nikkors and sent it back because of the lack of AutoFocus.
I applied that money towards a Lumix 12-35 f2.8 lens and that was enough to allow shooting indoors in poor light.

Next, I bought the new GH4 because of the much improved stills shooting.
Turns out that everything works better, so I sold the GH3 with 14-140 and got a Lumix 35-100 F/2.8.

For my use, even the new Panasonic HC-X1000 does not beat out the GH4 for Video.

I just got the new MustHD M701 Monitor.
Smaller than 9 inches but the zoom feature more than makes up for it.

I have a GH4, Shuttle II, and Ninja II
Once you have the camera set up properly, you can just plug in the HDMI cable.
If you are down-sampling 4k, it is important to use the highest quality cable.

The internal 1080P recording is so good that I am selling both of my recorders.
However, I may pick up a Shogun for 10 bit 4k.

I picked up my 35-100 at San Jose Camera.
I went up there to get my GH4 and it was on the shelf.

I’ve had Canons and prefer Nikons for both stills and video
However, neither will do continuous video unattended.

I just got a GH4 and it is at least 10% better than the GH3 in every way.
May not sound like much, but now a days that is a lot and well worth twice the price. Even at $1695 the GH4 is a bargain.

You can save a lot of money and get a GH3.
It shoots unattended unlimited 1080 P60 very nicely.

However, I now have the GH4 and there is no going back.
It seems to be at least 10% better in every way.
My indoor videos are brighter and sharper.
Outdoor action stills are better and easier to get.
The lone outdoor (Vollyball) video I took with AVCHD 28mbps was very good.

Either way, I would get a Lumix 12-35 and 35-100 f/2.8 lens.
The 7-14 f/4 was dissapointing indoors in poor light.
I am waiting for something faster.

The power zoom lens would interest me a lot more if they were cconstant f/2.8 or faster.
Even the 7-14 f/4 was too slow for my indoor work.
Most places will not allow you to add lights.

If I could only have one lens it would be a 10-40 f/2.0.
As it is, I use the Lumix 12-35 f/2.8 99% of the time.

Don’t dismiss 1080 P60 so fast.
It is not just for “Slo Mo”.

The images are much better and there is little if any “judder”.
If you shoot in AVCHD 28mbps the files are easy to deal with
and if you have a compatable Blue Ray Player and TV like I do
You can play the originals without any post processing.

Well, the specs are out and it appears to me that everything on the GH4 is better than the GH3 internally including a wider grip and locking mode selector for the exterior
