I accidentally hit that as well from time to time and hate it. It’s a feature I think that’s useless.
The numeric #5 key is suppose to reset it but often that does not work for me.

Maybe someone else will chime in but it doesn’t change the fact that the footage is 1080 on the timeline. It doesn’t change that.
What does make a difference is your preview settings. I ususally have mine set for “preview / auto”
And then if I need to see something a bit clearer I change it to something higher.

First off, I don’t think it’s helping to edit in 720 and then switching properties to 1080. I don’t think there is any advantage in that at all.
If you render part of your project out with the MXF format, you will loose nothing by putting them back on the timeline again.

  • Nesting is simply saving your veg file with your intro and its parts and then all you do is drop that veg file onto your timeline.
Just be aware that if you then change that veg file, all the rest of your projects that have that nested project in it will also reflect those same changes.
That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending.
The other issue is that if you’re nested veg file is on a different hard drive or something like that then you’ll have to find it to use.
I like to stick with just using my rendered MXF file to insert into a project.

I didn’t know that one. That’s good. Thanks

I had this happen once and found out that the blanked out video somehow got muted unknowingly.
You can unmute an event by using ctrl/?

  • I have the same sort of situation.
What I do is render my intros, etc as MXF files and save them in a separate folder for such things. I also make a template in which the intros and endings appear so all my other settings as well can easily be opened with all settings being correct every time. I think that’s the easiest way. I open the template and then rename for the project I’m working on leaving the template in tact.

I duplicate the audio track then uses the “selection edit tool” to highlight all the audio on one track, right click and go to “channels” and select which audio to keep on that track. I do that for each track I duplicate.

  • I misunderstood. Have you removed those events from the timeline and it still hangs up in that same spot?

    Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

  • I’ve had renders stop before at the same place. It might all run fine when editing but doesn’t render.
You might try removing that certain event from the timeline and render without it. If it renders then you know something is wrong with that event despite the fact it works withing vegas proper.
