need advice with intro / outro / overlays in Sony Vegas Pro 10
Ok, so… I have been working on my intro and outro for my YouTube video series. I also created a little animation to place in my videos to remind the viewer to “click the like button”….
Here is the problem….
I made a project in vegas, moved everything where I’d want it to appear in my videos and saved the project file. My question is that for small clips like this, where do I save them so I can import them into each of my videos?
The same problem is with intro and outro clips… is there a way to create a clip such as this, so you can include them in every video? Like maybe save it as a preset or place it in a media bin?
Or do I need to cut and paste (from one project file to another) every single time? I really dont want to have to align and zoom and edit this short clip manually in each video as they would never look consistent across each video episode.
My apologies if my question isn’t clear… I’ve tried googling this problem but only get results that show me how to create an intro… but never how to save it as a preset or how to save it and import it into each new project.
ANY answers would be appreciated.

I have the same sort of situation.
What I do is render my intros, etc as MXF files and save them in a separate folder for such things. I also make a template in which the intros and endings appear so all my other settings as well can easily be opened with all settings being correct every time. I think that’s the easiest way. I open the template and then rename for the project I’m working on leaving the template in tact.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

If you need to go-over intros regularly save it like a working template veg and then import that veg as a “nest”.

Nesting is simply saving your veg file with your intro and its parts and then all you do is drop that veg file onto your timeline.
Just be aware that if you then change that veg file, all the rest of your projects that have that nested project in it will also reflect those same changes.
That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending.
The other issue is that if you’re nested veg file is on a different hard drive or something like that then you’ll have to find it to use.
I like to stick with just using my rendered MXF file to insert into a project.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com
