I don’t care at all if it’s SD or HD. I just want to record in HD and view it in my 7″ external monitor so I can get an idea of what I’m filming.
It’s for our program in which I do a painting demonstration. I have the camera tight in on my painting and I need a monitor beside me to make sure that I am not covering the painting with my shoulder or head as I paint.
I use to use my Z1U perfectly with the monitor but can’t seem to figure it out with my new EX3.
https://www.paintingandtravel.com – That’s the website to our show.

Sorry for being behind the curve on this but I don’t quite understand. Is there a way to set up the EX3 so the external monitor can be seen in SD when the camera films in HD?
    Thanks Michael.

Thanks for the info. Splitting the segments doesn’t bother me so I think I’ll stay with the MP4’s for now.

I open Vegas12. When it’s opened I use to be able to double click the veg file and it would open. Now doing that it wants to render something or other.
So I left click on the veg and after about 10 seconds ore more I get the option to open it but when I do, it always crashes.

The only way to open a veg file now is either use the list of 6 previously opened projects in the file drop down menu or open a project in Windows Explorer.

OK. Got it. You can do this with Legacy text but not with Sony Titles and Text. That text generator won’t allow for any of the regular presets.

That’s interesting about the “rotate from center” but that means that the video will tilt. You haven’t found a way to make it do that and still keep the video horizontal have you?
I have often wanted to pan around a shot without going in a straight line. I guess that will be the next upgrade for 150 bucks.

    Hi Grazie,
Yes, After seeing this I see you must have done this at the track level as there is no way to apply an effect to text like you can with an event. Am I right?

Not looking for a fade of the entire line of text.
    Here’s the scenario.
Black background. A spotlight begins to highlight some white text and moves from left to right. As the spot moves, the text shows up only where the spotlight is panning it almost like looking at it with a flashlight.

Pretty sure there’s no way to do it without a lot of key frames and I know of no plug-in that will do the trick either.
