    thanks for the post!
I have been using it and it seems OK for me.
I have found the current project to be very crash prone on either 12.5.2 or .3.
It has come in on a WD 5.4TB with eSATA but the .xml from FCP7 together with the timeline having 3 x more media than I need seems to have made the system very burdened and slow to respond. It has taken a lot of sleuthing to get all the media into the right places and clear the layers of vision that I don’t need and now I am Media Managing to my good drives – 3TB SSD RAID 0. I am hoping that should be a boost to responsiveness. The other day I spent the day putting in all the subtitles manually as they have had problems exporting the text from FCP (strange as other supers came through but the subtitles all had little slugs saying something like “roundtrip placeholder”). The point of this being that the day spent doing the subtitles, I had no crashes as, I assume, it was against guide vision on my RAID and didn’t require the WD eSATA.

any reflections would be welcomed warmly!

    Thanks for the response.

The original is old film – circa 1914. We have the opportunity to get it done the way we like but there are competing points of view.

Go Dan! Didn’t even think of it – and so practical! Instead I re-exported and stressed about the delivery deadline. Cheers!

I have just been hammering to get a project out for a clients screening. It is a BluRay at 30 mps and I squirted it out with leader. Rushing to deliver I just trimmed it back in Encore. In the Encore monitor it played fine and the Menu worked fine in Encore preview but when I burned the discs it was several seconds out of sync when I checked the disc in WinDVD. I dont have any other BluRay player. Cursing the looming deadline I decided to squirt out another with the leader trimmed off and it worked fine in WinDVD.

one of the great things about Creative Cow forums is the sounding board effect. So i thought about the hardware not found – opened up the box and discovered that there was an old Blackmagic card in there as well as the new one —- ooooopsies!I am now getting pictures and wondering why HP didnt tell me what a dope i was being. and the format irregularities can wait for another day when i discover a similar lack of thinking it all through on my part.
    goodnight 😉
