September 23, 2016 at 4:42 pm in reply to: any chance of implementing copy pasting of screen shots?still on the same topic – sort of:
1. can’t I delete a post I made? even if no one responded to it yet..
2. when I want to edit my text, seems unintuitive that I have to hit reply (even to my own post) to get to see the edit button. also once I click it, seems copy pasting is not supported here and also drag and drop.Roei Tzoref

if the masks are inside the precomp (as where they should probably be), in the pre-comp go to composition settings and advanced and tick this:

[russ johnson] “EDIT: I did not have the global “Enable Frame Blending” checked for the composition, so problem solved. I’ll leave this up in case anyone else runs into this issue.”
have you by any chance rendered your file by AME? Composition-adding to AME queue?
if you are rendering at the default settings, then it’s Ae’s “Best Settings” for Render Settings and it means it will set Frame Blending where there is a switch on per layer, not related to the master switch. same goes for Motion Blur.

September 23, 2016 at 1:10 pm in reply to: Preview in timeline goes low quality when previewing, very frustratingYou are using 13.7.1 aka 2015.2, since june Adobe released 2015.3, with a bug update in august. it’s also called 13.8.1 and I like it very much. if you install it be aware that the default installation removes the previous versions, but you can change the default and install it alongside all of the Creative Cloud versions. also note that project’s files are compatible through versions cc2014, cc2015, cc2015.3 so aside from new features or plugins, you can open your project with either of these three with ease.

September 23, 2016 at 12:30 pm in reply to: Preview in timeline goes low quality when previewing, very frustratingYou’re welcome. if you are talking about this specific option, this particular “Resolution” option was there as far as I can remember so this could happen also in earlier versions… CC2015 introduced much more customizable preview options. having more options is generally a good thing I think as long as they work as expected of course. maybe this means the U.I can confuse some folks. the real problem with preview is the actual performance in some systems.
more about the preview options in CC 2015.2 (the one you have) and above is here:

You could try to explore some scripts like
Rubberhose: https://www.battleaxe.co/rubberhose/
Puppettools: https://aescripts.com/puppettools/
Duik: https://rainboxprod.coop/en/tools/duik/but I think this was probably very carefully keyframe animated in a traditional animation style with almost no automatic process (no plugins or effects). probably with Ae shapes, and I believe that other than the stroke gaps offset, this was all by the hands of a skillful keyframe artist taking the time to make the right timing and movement of the paths. like this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0ibqyMXyLw

September 23, 2016 at 10:45 am in reply to: Preview in timeline goes low quality when previewing, very frustrating[Glen Perez] “Hello, im using after effects 13.7.1.6 and when i hit space my preview goes low quality, and when its stopped it goes to full quality again.
“it means it has to do with your preview settings. look here

you probably get resolution set to quarter or something other than full or Auto. Auto is the default. it means it will get the resolution from your Comp Window – this is what I use. it means that if I am at quarter resolution in my Comp view, this is what I will also preview. if you are seeing full in the comp view, but low on the preview – check your preview settings.Roei Tzoref

this could be just the way linear movement can strobe. especially text – read here: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/creating-editing-text-layers.html#best_practices_for_creating_text_and_vector_graphics_for_video
and here: https://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/908/cpsid_90843.htmlif you say it worked fine before, you can test it in CC2014 or CC 12.2 and compare. if all fails, send me a project file so I can test it here and see.

is this 13.8.1 ? 13.8.0 had a problem with text layers. can you compare this behavior to the previous? if you are CC member you can install any version from CS6 alongside your current version
