[Syed Iqbal] “I am on Windows 8.1 operating system and AE version is 13.5.0.347

the first thing you should do is update your software to the latest of it’s release. 13.5 was very buggy. it had many bug fixes updates. you should update to 13.7.1 then please try again and report back.

update – well what do you know 🙂 look here:

    this is from the articles:
Adding audio markers during a preview (by pressing * on the numeric keypad) no longer causes the preview frame rate to slow down, which then caused audio to drop or stutter.

Thanks Tim for the quick response

    1. Deleting posts – nothing special really. I find that in rare cases I can write nonsense instead of good advice and want to delete it. guess I can change the text if I want but I think there should be an option to delete a post or response unless a user responded.

    2. Editing posts – at first I thought there was not any ability to edit posts because it was not visible. it’s only when I searched for “edit posts” I found this thread I think: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/1/859914 and then I discovered that you can hit Reply on your own message and get to edit your post. for me a simple button of edit post is much more useful than many of the features here:

    3. New Features copy pasting and drag and drop features (which are very useful) only work in the “Add a Post” window here:

but it does not work in the “Edit yout Post” window:

    what version and Os. ?
I am on Windows 7, Ae 13.8.1 and it appears to work fine.

try to collapse all the layers. (if you have to see the waveform, try with and without).

I would also try to reset my preferences.

[Matthew Beall] “I have Frame Blending>Pixel Motion on for the pre-comp layer, as well as enabled within the composite.”
have you pressed the collapse switch? your setup should look like this:

Thanks Walter. yes you can manipulate video, but for the creation of the frame Ae has to pull some tricks, really only one trick that truly worth the time (ha!) and that’s pixel motion and if you got a few motion vectors you can forget about it… for layers and keyframes he doesn’t. this what I meant – how do you explain, or where is a resource for explaining the fact that there is a difference between time remapping a precomp with or without footage. I have trouble phrasing it… for example in Matthew’s case there are some masks roto or what not, and he want’s to speed it up – this will create inconsistency between Ae native mask layers + keyframes and the footage unless he checks the preserve frame rate.

September 23, 2016 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Can’t smooth a motion path!

[Stephen Roberts] “The only solution I have so far is to make it very slow, and then bring that comp into another comp and speed it up using Time Stretch.”

yep that could do it. the problem is you got more keyframes than frames, so Ae has to cut down some so you get jagged motion path. you can try to smooth the path with the smoother – this will remove some while trying to maintain the overall movement.

Have you by any chance pasted a mask path to your nulls position to create the path? if so, it could be that you need to stretch the keyframes some more

please show us a screenshots of your Ae interface with the path selected and keyframes visible.

Great! thanks for the feedback. BTW this is because you time remapped native ae time with video. Ae creates intermediate frames to fill the in betweens as long as it’s native Ae movement (keyframes on still, effects, text, vectors, really anything but an image sequence or Video)- but for video it cannot really blend time in the same way. Walter Soyka – a little help here rephrasing this properly ? 🙂
