instead of stroke, you can use write-on effect. it also offers a way to reveal a stroke, but with a position crosshair (one you can attach anything to..)
so the workflow is this:
1. make sure your artwork layer is at the default transform values. if not, precomp and move all attributes
2. create a path tracing the actual artwork. set the mask to “None”
3. add the write on effect. change spacing to the minimum, and choose paint style “on original image”. set the color to red.
4. copy the path (from the mask path, not the mask) and paste onto the write-on position property
5. make sure the path being drawing fully covers the artwork. change the brush size to fit.
6. in the write-on effect change paint style to “reveal original image”
7. on the hand layer, set the anchor point at where you want the pivot to be
8. link the hand position property to the write-on position propertyhere’s the project folder:

one obvious reason not to use it is that it’s memory intensive. You could use the free plugin fx console to customize the default parameters of this effect for later use.

here’s my donation to this post: yes PNG sequence is lossless and a nice way to create a digital intermediate and I have been doing that for years in Ae but since then started using DPX instead. much faster render, the file size is bigger, but render time makes up for it.

April 28, 2018 at 9:33 pm in reply to: DANIEL2, accelerated H.264, ProRes – which is your rule of thumb to speed daily render workflow?Ae does not offer H.264 for mp4 since CC2014, and as of CC2018 – no QT container as well. Using AME means you can keep working on Ae, have Ae version for each queue item, and many great presets adjusted to fit which offers better H.264 than native Ae offered. your needs. In the long run, you can work faster in many cades. But Ae in comparison will be faster per render and is less step. I use aftercodecs to render straight from Ae an mp4 file. I used to use AME and it was fine too.

April 27, 2018 at 9:16 pm in reply to: Why copying and pastıng keyframes dublicates the layers?Marcus Round is correct. you can’t copy/paste properties of different layers, only in the same layer.
you can do this using these scripts:

there is little information about your situation as you cropped your screenshot so i’ll make a guess. this look like an overshoot problem that is typical when using spatial interpolation of position keyframes. you could fix it by highlighting both keyframes and change the spatial interpolation to linear by hitting Ctrl+Alt+K (Windows). this is also called the boomerang effect:

His Lynda courses is basically the book. Compare the contents. It’s a great resource nonetheless.

[Filip Stillerska] “Ok! But why does AE/Premiere even create a conformed audio in the first place? Why not just rely on the audio directly from the file? “
to work faster. Premiere conforms audio from compressed audio of your media. when you playback a compressed media, the software has to decompress it. this will cause slower performance. conforming the audio is the way to for premiere to work faster.

I have the book, it’s very good but maybe outdated on some of the parts. I would recommend you find Mark Christiansen on Lynda.com and watch all of his Compositing courses. they are very good.
