Yes it has gotten me a signal! I also found this

Which has helped me control the level — i was wondering where that stuff was !

And if there’s a preamp you like please tell me about it — many many thanks!

    Hi Graham

Thais is what I’ve got right now

I’m back into the front mic port, the rear port gives no level, as you said, but I dont see a line level adjustment slider on my W10 device control:

it says it’s not plugged in but it also says it’s working properly and I hear the chime when I plug into it.

So I’m trying to use the front port jacked up . I’m getting some hiss on “s” words but otherwise not too bad.

One more SS of current settings

    for what it’s worth.

I am recording with a Sennheiser Mk400 mini shotgun very close to my mouth with all pots up about as high as they will go. The sound quality is good, but as you can see there is no wave form on the track. i would like to see one for editing and to know that all’s well, but again, the files sound good and i may not need to edit them at all.

Sorry, Graham, i went to bed. i wasn’t focussing any more. here is the current state of recording

Thank you — i am now recording to the track! The only issue I have now is that the level is very low, even tho as you can see, the pot is pushed up. Any thoughts?

Thank you, Graham — the arm button is lit and i can see the db monitor respond when I speak into the mic during a recording. But I dont see any wave form on the track as it is recording and there is no audio in playback :(.

    Getting closer tho!

    Any more suggestions?

    Thanks for your response, Graham.
    1. I don’t see any mic icon on my track header or yours either. Confused!
    2. Here’s a view of what I do see:

3.Here is the device control for W10

4 I dont know what the Asio is. I thought it just came with the computer.

    Thanks!

Here’s a screen shot of the frame after rendering at 1080×1080

Still 16×9, just smaller than the normal 16×9 file and less than half the file size.

    I’m totally confused.

Yes, “allow source to adjust frame size” is unchecked.

Actually that is exactly what I did, and got a file rendered called “Jen_.mp4.tmp” which could not be played until I removed the TMP and then it was the original format of 16×9.

Strange? Or am I missing something?
