I understand but hope for more. Even just a way to parent temporally without pre composing.

    BTW — Who’s eye and who’s stick.

In other words, no. You just have to muscle it.

Thanks. Ive never been in the info panel drop down before. One day I’ll figure out the keyboard combination that got me into trouble to begin with. At least now I know how to get out.

    Thanks again

  • OK so I have some new information. LPCM Audio. (was new to me)

There is an issue with importing the MTS files when using uncompressed LPCM Audio in Premiere. According to Sony, this issue was know for CS3 and 4 but resolved in 5. (Really? This issue is that old?) However, on the Adobe site, I’m seeing people are still having issues. Would love to have someone from Adobe weigh in on this. Current forum shows questions about this issue “Not Answered”. Also saw similar posts on Videomaker site.

I’ve been advised that a current work around is to change the audio to Dolby or WAV. Using Dolby is not a problem for me, but I assume there are those who desire the uncompressed audio.

The other solution is to use 3rd party conversion programs. Cineform and Audacity (sound only?) were specifically mentioned.

    Hope this is helpful.

  • Thanks for your time on this. At least I don’t feel like an idiot. I’m using Aunsoft Video Converter and it works, but the video gets noticeably darker (not to mention the time converting).
Maybe Sony and or Adobe can pick up on this and come up with a fix.
BTW Final Cut won’t even recognize the file for Log and Transfer. Not an AVID user so can’t comment on that.

  • Yup, tried that. Same result. I suppose I can use the third party software to get the sound and use the better visual form the import, synch it up, but really. Too many steps. Got to be a better solution. Am uploading files to Dropbox. Do you want me to send you a share as well? Maybe its just me, but someone else may run into the problem.

  • Am uploading to Dropbox. Send me an email I can forward a share to.

Thanks Aharon. The restart did the trick. I had been resorting to pasting the paths in 6.5 when needed and then opening the project in 7.0. I had in fact seen the paths tutorial and make a point of checking out all your tutorials. They’re great.

And Lazlo, it was reassuring to know I wasn’t the only one who had this issue.

Nate and taxi. Fridays are tough. I hope next week is better.
