You’ll have to use TYPE. The only way you’re going to get anything 3D in Motion. Simply type e.g. a “•”, make it 3D text and scale and extrude it as needed.

Yep. Simply use the Transform Keyframes Tool at the top of the Keyframe Editor. Select the keyframes… and stretch.

Unfortunately, that’s still not the entire timeline. You’d have to ⇧Z the timeline first.
But, I’d say you simply have a lot of dialog channels somewhere along the line (outside of the segment we’re seeing) AND you have the audio LANES (FCP does not have tracks) activated. If you want to “sandwich” your channels to the least amount of vertical space, simply HIDE the lanes. Hit ⌘⇧2 or click the “Index” button and look for a button at the bottom of the window.
It’s in fact a (brilliant) feature, not a bug. ????

Which essentially works out to what I suggested… just without the step outside of FCP. ????
And btw… the size of the element would be irrelevant.

Actually, no. If you saw the edited version of my post, then you’d see I much prefer the second solution I suggested. I avoid compounding if at all possible, so as not to have to jump INTO anything to do even just simple changes.
