New iMAC 27-inch with Retina 5K display potential

Sure?
Because there are plenty Macs that don’t run on anything older than what they shipped with due to e.g. certain hardware drivers such as various flavors of Thunderbolt and the likes… as in this case Thunderbolt 3?Whether this is one of them I can’t say, since I don’t know why I would even want to downgrade my system, but a call or visit to Apple should bring quick and definitive clarification, no?

September 12, 2017 at 2:24 pmYeah also it’s a challenge to find the old OS. I can definitely confirm once you setup a Mac with the High Sierra beta it’s nearly impossible to downgrade but that is due more to the new file system.

Which isn’t mandatory, but if you DO opt for it… good luck getting back, yeah! ????
I wonder whether Macs that ship with High Sierra will be APFS formatted… hmmm. But then I’d be very surprised if not.
