I have 2009 Mac Pro 8 core and have two 23″ Apple Cinema displays connected.
I also have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro HDMI card installed. What do i do if i want to connect my HDTV with my Mac as well? I used to be able to use my two displays and my HDTV with FCP 7, but i am now using fcp x 10.1.1.

Is there any way to do this with FCP X or directly through OSX ?

Just to clarify, you unchecked “Make Movie Self Contained”?
Are you saying that there must NOT be a tick next to “Make Movie Self Contained”, correct?

Exporting from FCP or Quicktime Pro will alter the duration. Neither of these programs will resample the clip, they only change the tags. An audio editor is required to actually resample the clip, then save the resampled version as a new file.

I have gone through this countless time, getting rough mixes for live concert DVDs. They send the rough mixes as an audio CD(s), and when I bring that in it’s at 44.1. I have to RESAMPLE the audio to 48. Simply exporting doesn’t change anything.

you should import the file into Sountrack Pro, then

1 Choose Process > Resample.
2 In the Resample sheet, choose a sample rate from the Sample Rate pop-up menu. In your case choose 48 kHz.
3 Click OK.

Unfortunately i do not have the original HDV tapes, so i cannot batch capture the footage. can i just copy and paste the HDV 1080i50 sequence into a ProRes 1440×1080 sequence, or do i need to convert the footage first? if so, what would be the best way to process the entire footage?

Hi Dave, how do i convert the footage to ProRes? do i need to place it in a sequence and export it as ProRes? What settings should i choose?

i have already edited the entire programme, so what do i do to replace the footage with the ProRes?

After upgrading my system to SL, the movies i exporte from FCP 6, seem to become much lighter in their gamma value. The gamma in the viewer and canvas looked darker, but the exported QT movies seemed to be unusually light. i could not find a fix for this.

Yesterday i upgraded to FCS 3 and FCP 7 now display my FCP 6 projects much lighter in the viewer and canvas than before!
