I actually had the same scenario at work not too long ago. I found one way to accomplish this was to create a Sky object and give it a solid white color and don’t have a floor, but that creates the issues of no shadows. I couldn’t figure it out when I needed cast shadows, if I try to make the floor or BG white, it would blow out the color of my model. What exactly does ambient occlusion do?

I’ve had this problem before, and in my case and a few others, Audio Preview and RAM Preview still don’t work. I’ve posted a few different times about it and nobody is really sure how to fix it.

That way works but is kind of indirect. From the tutorial I saw, there is obviously a way to move it freehand. I know how to make things snap to points, edges, etc. I just need to know how to move it on the fly.

It’s an interesting tutorial, but all he says in it is that, “I’m using a hot key to move the modeling axis.” He starts to tell you where to find it but never does.

The option is checked, the audio is uncompressed. The more vexing issue about this problem is that, earlier in the day I would be working on it and everything will be working fine, then I come back to it later and it decides that no audio will play. It recognizes that the audio is there because the equalizer in the upper-right is fluctuating. The audio formats I generally use is WAV or AIFF and they generally work. It’s not only the audio as in a music file though, any audio in the movie clips won’t play either.

As a follow up, now it works. But I can’t just ignore the situation, becuase history has shown that it will bite me in the a$$ again when I least expect it.

The company i work for has 2 versions of AE 7, i tried installing the 2 different ones and it still didn’t work. I was forced to download the CS3 Trial version before it would start working. I don’t want to have to buy that yet so i’m hoping there’s a way to get around this problem.

    QT 7.2 Pro
    OS 10.4.1
    AE 7
Quicktime audio working, as well as MP3 so far, haven’t tried other projects yet

Same issues as the others though,

Audio plays when you double click on it in the projects folder
RAM Preview and Audio Preview have none
    Scrubbing plays nothing

everything is turned on as it has been for the countless other projects i’ve done, but now it just doesnt work

Any help or advice would be greatly appreaciated.
