  • Moving the axis of Rotation for selected Polygons

I’m am semi-experienced with Cinema and am running into an issue I wouldn’t think should be this difficult. I’ve imported a die-print version of a package as a flat image, then made a plane and used the Knife tool to cut it into the polygons i needed. From here I’m simply trying to refold these polygons, but when i select the ones I need to fold up, by rotating along an edge, i find i can only rotate from the center of them. I can change the object axis, but it only affects the object as a whole. How can I make this work for me?

    Thanks in advance.

you can move the axis in the tool. With the Rotate Tool (or whichever tool) selected go to the Modeling Axis tab in the AM and you move the axis there

It’s an interesting tutorial, but all he says in it is that, “I’m using a hot key to move the modeling axis.” He starts to tell you where to find it but never does.

That way works but is kind of indirect. From the tutorial I saw, there is obviously a way to move it freehand. I know how to make things snap to points, edges, etc. I just need to know how to move it on the fly.

    Use the f10 hotkey.
