Aloha Jason and All,
Go ahead all the way through and download. The version you get is 2.1.4 – they just need to update their signage!Blessings, Bob

Also – I’m assuming that you chose ProRes codec for HD and Video Input is HD Firewire HDV? The ProRes codec should be less strain on your system than trying to CODE/DECODE HDV. Eliminates the long GOPs.

Aloha Marcus – On your camera, make sure your output is set to HDV and that down conversion is off. That’s in the SIGNAL SETUP menu.

Aloha Matt – didnÊ»t catch that before, but if youÊ»re exporting 720p, then itÊ»s trying to uprez to HD. Better to just make a good SD file – 480p. On your M100 export panel, make sure youÊ»re choosing QUICKTIME movie and NOT self contained or by reference. FIELD DOminance – Progressive, Color Range – Computer.
Your other settings are accessed by pushing the OPTIONS button – Yes? SETTINGS – VIDEO, compression type (H.264), 30 fps, key frames automatic, Frame Reordering OFF, Quality Slider BEST, encoding – Best Quality MultiPass.Robert C. Stone

So in your Quicktime export process, IÊ»m assuming you cranked the quality slider UP. In the SIZE section there is a de-interlace box to check and I suggest as far as size, click CUSTOM and enter 864 x 486 (if youÊ»re doing D1) or 853 x 480. That will render a file that is 16×9 without the pixel mess. In the case of a finished quicktime movie that does not appear as 16×9 (itÊ»s squished!), the other way is to open your rendered quicktime movie – WINDOW – SHOW MOVIE PROPERTIES and click on video track, VISUAL SETTINGS, un-click the PRESERVE ASPECT RATIO box and enter the above pixel info in the boxes and re-save your movie.
See if that helps.Robert C. Stone

Aloha Matt – give me a little while. I have a system with that same version of M100, so let me pull it out, fire it up and take a reflective look!
