Yes and Yes.

We’re shooting 1080/60i 24PA with 4 tracks mono audio. Upon import these come in as 29.97 with 4 tracks mono. I select all clips then under tools “remove advanced pulldown” and they are converted to 23.98 with 4 tracks mono.

Odd, I’m not having that issue at all.

Under Tools you can choose “Remove Advanced Pulldown” on the imported 29.97 clips. This will remove the pulldown and convert them back to 23.98.

Not quite as good as doing this on import, but it’s a start.

Any updates to this issue? I just upgraded to FCP6 and am having the same serious bug.

We’re very happy with our Panasonic BT-LH2600W models, we have 7 of these. MSRP is $4950 but you can find them cheaper.

Apple needs to start realizing that may facilities operate in a cross platform environment. Having a codec exclusive to Mac only severely limits the use of this QT file.

This is one area that Avid has Apple beat.

Yeah they’re big Yamaha digital mixers that are taking up a lot of desk real estate – all for volume control.

We have a similar issue in our Post Production also related to the missing Windows QT codecs.

We capture all footage from DigiBeta & D5 as either DVCPro50 or DVCProHD using Aja Kona 3 cards in Final Cut Pro. All has worked flawlessly until we recently attempted to connect some PCs to our Xsan and share this QuickTime media. The PCs are video transcoders, so they have to have access to the media.

To our surprise there is no Apple QuickTime for Windows DVCPro50 or DVCProHD codec. How can these codecs simply not be available for Windows QuickTime? The whole point of a shared video environment over Xsan (and ADIC Storenext FX software) is that Macs and even PCs can collaborate on a project based on QuickTime media. The QuickTime codec shouldn
