Ensure that your media is on an external drive and not the OS system drive. Make proxy files from your original media and use them to edit from. There are many videos on YouTube telling how to use the BM Proxy Generator app within the DR program. Then when all editing is completed export using the full size media to encode.
There are many YouTube videos online that discuss the various versions of the MacStudio. You might be surprised that you might not need the latest “maxed out” version of the MacStudio to do the tasked requirements.

After watching numerous reviews it appears the mid range Mac Studio, with 32Gb ram, and 1 to 2 TB of internal storage is the sweet spot for cost vs performance.
And no need to buy the best either… lots of video on youtube before you decide which version is the best for you. The modest one with 32GB ram and 1or 2 Tb of storage would be fine for most people. Then all need is external SSD storage.
