Forget the 4800 it is a dinosaur, get two GPU’s a GT-120 for the GUI and a NvIdia 4000 card for the Resolve GPU if you are not going to get a Cubix. If you are going to get a Cubix then I would get 2-4 4000’s for Resolve GPU’s

Having used and demoed the other mentioned suites (Except Mistika) I don’t really see anything I cannot do on Resolve compared to other grading systems. Was (is) not Resolve on Linux with a stack of GPU’s and fast disk I/O a “Bespoke” solution and is it not currently one of the most widely used DI systems for features in facilities like Comapny-3?
So a OSX based Resolve with the Resolve panel and multiple GPU’s plus fast storage is the same software and interface and V8.0 of Resolve adds much functionality and features but it is the same software as the $100K (now) Linux machine.
So I don’t really see how it is any less “powerful” than other grading solutions.
This may be disruptive (economically) but I would like to see actual point by point feature by feature and performance figures that clearly define that Resolve is in any way inadequate.

The base Decklink HD card works fine with Resolve.

I think both Tangent Devices and Film Systems had boxes which would interface to a TK to have it controlled by 422, I think this is how Baselight does Spirit Control.

They cut through the computer BS, a great understanding of what the computer is, and what it means. Bespoke crap is nothing but dead, the computer has killed that. All things complex and expensive to do with a computer eventually end up in a pocket version for sale at the supermarket for a dollar. This is all you need to know about the computer.

Thunderbolt currently only has a fraction of the bandwidth of a 16X Pcie 2.0 slot. I believe it is only X4 which is not enough bandwidth for the fastest GFX cards.

What board do you have for the Hackintosh? is it a Asus P6T7 ? There are many ways to setup a Mac on PC hardware and some run but end up unstable.

I run Resolve in 64bit mode on the machine I built for it but I have also run it in 32bit mode on the 15″ MBP I have (2.53ghz dual GFX) so it runs on either.
