The error message I was getting when I had tried to open the “corrupted” project said: “The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements.”

I just tried your suggestion to import the sequence I need into a new project. That really seems like the best solution. Also because over the course of a year I had accumulated so much junk in the project panel that the media search wasn’t functioning, but now in the new project it works! Great idea! 🙂Thank you so much, Mads!

Thanks, Mads! I should try that. I called it corrupted because Pr won’t open it. As I recall the error message said it might be corrupted.

Thank you very much, Mads. We used a Cinema camera Canon EOS C70 with cinema lenses (don’t know what kind). I’d try the Mocha Pro if the trial version is completely functional. Thanks!

Actually I have experienced some erratic behavior in Premiere: the timeline changing and suddenly playing back rapidly, disappearance of assets and even sequences from the Project panel, etc.

One Adobe agent advised me: “if you do not update your Mac your hardware drivers will not get updated and the performance will degrade for your Mac also you have an M1 chip that needs to be up to date for best performance and Premiere Pro uses M1 chip as it acts as a CPU & GPU both and if the drivers for that is not updated it might cause performance issues with the application.”

But I’m wary of updates. Please tell me what you think of that agent’s reply. Thanks!
