Thanks for the constructive opinions. I just was curious if Final Cut can handle the SD to HD titles easily in the circumstances for this particular film. I can match the titles spot on in Photoshop or After Effects so I am not hosed, just a little more work needed to finish.

The font control in the viewer indicates the the font set is identical. The offline was done in Germany, but the offline project file indicates the same fonts are being used. If FCP is substituting fonts does it show the substituted font name or does it use the original font name while substituting the font?

Thanks for the input, all I am really looking for is a simple EDL app that I can use to generate a reel summary and/or clip name summary that is an aid to project organization of features shot on RED and off-lined in FCP for a Scratch finish. I have been doing this by hand using source sorted EDL’s out of FCP in the Scratch EDL Editor and am wanting to streamline the workflow

Hi Jeremy,

I still have all of the compressor application support files intact. I moved the compressor preferences to the trash to take it offline yet compressor still will not launch. I am considering uninstalling, but I am not sure what Final Cut Studio disk has compressor on it. I did the upgrade from FCP 5 to FCP 5.1.4. Still messing with it, any ideas would be great.

Hi David,

If I go to user/home/library/application support/compressor, there is a lot of stuff in there. What am I looking for to trash? And what do I not want to mess with.

Thanks for the ideas. What I am doing is downconverting on capture from 4:2:2 23.98 psf uncompressed HD. Ideal would be to stay within 23.98 fps and keep the file size managable for offline.

We did not have the raid set up properely. I set it up today as stripped array, Mac OS extended, and block size at 256k and it performed great. I also reinstalled all the relevent software after wiping the disk.

I wanted to follow up with the results. We were having issues with the disk array. I did relinstall Tiger, reinstalled FCP, and Decklink. Properly stripped and configed the raid and voila, no more freezes on capture. Thanks for the ideas,
