Try reseting the Project properties., ie HDV is Pal or NSTC, it runs at the right speed ie., frames per second either 25 fps or 30fps.

You should not have to render the clips, but, if there is a red line above timeline needs to go to green. But, may not effect audio.

Good luck !!!!!!We use a Canon HV20 which is HDV (PAL) 25fps and there are no problems with sound in Premiere Pro. We have found the sound is somtimes dodgy out os sync using mov.H.264 files out of a Canon EOS 5D mark II which was running at 30fps, Canon have changed this now by Firmware 2.0.4 to run at 25fps.

Try changing Speed/Duration on some clips and Tick “Maintain Pitch”

Canon Manuals state you can use a Canon HV 20 and I presume the Hv30 & Hv 40 to take clips from the XH- A1 ie., play and we do it continually after Export to Tape in Premiere Pro

Why not Export to DVD directly from Premiere Pro we do it all the time .

I agree with Todd, we have used a Canon HV20 for three years as a vtr for editing clips from the Canon EOS 5D Mark II @ 1920 x 1080 in Premiere Pro with no loss of quality (PAL)

  • ie., Follow Canon Instructions you cannot go wrong.

  • It will tell you what is in the camera, just click upgrade 2.0.4 in the right hand side window after you have clicked on the tools icon.

    It works very well

Premiere Pro will do it for you , but, you will degrade the video by going to DVD, you need Blu-ray or go to Export to Tape for 1080i or change the settings in Premiere Pro to Widescreen 16:9 720 x 576 (PAL) or check the NSTC Settings and load them,

    Good luck
