[David Cherniack] ” BTW you can drop a Xeon into the X99’s socket and I don’t think it will require ECC ram.”

That’s an avenue of thought I’ll definitely explore.
    Thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks David for a very informative reply.
    I currently have 2 8-core 2687 W Xeon processors with 64 GB of DDR3 and a Quadro 5000 graphics card.
The system runs very well, has been since I built it 2.5 years ago.
Although I am now lusting after the new 18-core processors, 128 GB of DDR 4 and the Quadro K 5200, the X99 platform has got my attention especially since I can max it out (8-core CPU, 128 GB of DDR4 and 2 Titan graphics cards) at a fraction of the cost of the dual Xeon system.

Actually, my ‘can you define that” question ( a nod to a previous post) was my way of asking you to list the machine’s specs.
I am interested to know how the new chipset performs.

[David Cherniack] “…on a brand new X99 chipset screamer”

    Can you define that? 🙂

  • You must be doing something wrong. It works fine on my end.

“the analyze content function” has been dropped from PPro going forward because it didn’t improve as expected when it was first introduced.

[Bill Davis] “You practicing your Aindreas impression for the holiday party?”

    LOL, that’s a good one, Bill. 🙂

  • [Dennis Radeke] “you can also double click in the program monitor to scale in real-time directly in the program window.”

Just don’t forget to park the timeline CTI/playhead on the clip prior to double clicking.

Dennis, which definition best applies here?

    Subjective:
    1. existing in the mind; belonging to the thinking subject rather than to the object of thought (opposed to objective ).
    2. pertaining to or characteristic of an individual; personal; individual:
    3. placing excessive emphasis on one’s own moods, attitudes, opinions, etc.; unduly egocentric.

    Personally, I think it’s N°3, do you? 🙂
