The bible on AE is:
Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects: Essential and Advanced Techniques, by Trish & Chris MeyerYou can find an older version that covers cs4.

Well I have just begun reading the book, and I see that it hands things differently but that limited knowledge didn’t help me set up a sequence that would work with ProRes.
However this link you have seems to layout what I need to know. Thank you for that.
And this link for cs5.5 works for me. https://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/09/premiere-pro-overview-documents-for-final-cut-pro-and-avid-media-composer-users.html
Thanks

Thanks Jeff.
I have another question but I think I will start a new thread for it.

Yeah, I just tried to import the first ProRes files into CS5 and got that “file not supported” error. I guess I should update.
Can I just copy the files from the CF card or do I need to make a Disk Image?
Thanks,

Thinking more about this I realize that it began to happen after the only time my macbook pro crashed.
What happened was that I was in the full Color Finesse interface, reading the help files to better use that program, and tried to save a look as a preset. I hit a couple keystrokes, I forget exactly perhaps shift and F2, and the screen went black, the mac shut off. I rebooted and went on. (These strokes don’t work for a laptop with out reprograming the keys)
Because of that crash, perhaps some file in AE became corrupt and only causes a problem after working for several hours.
If this is the case, what should I do. Trash preferences, reinstall AE? I am loath to reinstall AE this far along in a project. Perhaps I should clone the system drive before reinstalling AE?
Any thoughts as to if this could be the problem and the solution or otherwise.

Ty,
Thanks for the RAMPS suggestion. I have read posts on RAMPS before but had never posted there myself. There are very generous with their knowledge.
Thanks,

The Advanced Rotoscoping disc by Pete O’Connell is just packed with information. He gives you the lay of the land but also all of the important little steps without which you would be lost. HIghly recommend it.
