Although I was using the correct sequence for the video, 25fps.
In simple user setup, it was set to 30fps. So this altered the audio file I imported. -

July 26, 2016 at 4:17 pm in reply to: GH3 Audio Input & External Mics – Wiring, Impedance… Incompetence?Hi Guy, this is an old thread but it seems you have addressed an issue that came up recently. I have a Panasonic GH3 and a SoundDevices 552. I wanted to connect the mixer out to the GH3, to record audio direct as well as internally.
So using the XLR’s on Line Out, with the GH3 audio level set at about 14, awful noise floor and feedback on one of the mics (through the h/p’s) Couldn’t work it out at first, since ‘I assumed’ that the audio input would accept line in. Then ‘just for fun’ I switched the XLR’s to mic output level and set the GH3 level at 1. Bloody Bingo! No more noise floor and no more feedback.
So looked at the 552 output settings, seems Mic Out is -20dB@0.078vrms and I’m wondering whether that more or less corresponds to your suggestion of -10dB.
There is the -10 setting, but that corresponds to +6dB@1.5vrms… -
Thanks, and for output selection I send post fade? Thinking that gives full control of mic inputs before going to 744T.

Only a recorder? No mixer? I use a SD 552. It wasn’t cheap, but it’s bullet proof. It has just about everything I need and some more. In my experience if it doesn’t have proper knobs and switches then in the heat of the moment you will lose out.
Unfortunately, in the pro audio world, there is still quite a gulf between prosumer and professional. -
Nagar V is an interesting choice, what made you go for that over say Sound Devices? Have you come across the BB List? If you haven’t it’s a place for buyers and sellers of pro gear.
I have a 552 mixer/recorder, it has its limitations like only two channel record, but it’s never let me down. -
Sold my FR2 long time ago. I understand that the repair shop simply removed old power inlet and soldered new one in. I don’t have any info on connections etc You know there is a menu item for battery power, it allows the recorder to differentiate between voltages and different battery types. I think the old jack socket had three connections to the board, I know only two are used.

Hi Ty, thanks for the comment. TBH I have tried the 4053 instead of the AKG and been pleasantly surprised in situations i wouldn’t have expected good results. Maybe I should just save up for a 416 instead….

Thanks for the confirmation. I need to hire the Lockit and cables.

I need it to fit the Petrol bag and not be too heavy…although this…https://www.componentshop.co.uk/12v-3700mah-sc-nimh-battery-pack.html is no lightweight, it would fit the bag.
I like NiMh because of the high capacity.
Did you fit an inline fuse to protect your gear?
