It’s a piece of cake. No different than using the original 4GB cards.

?We have no quarrel with those who sell for less . . . they should know what their product is worth.?

[Shaun du Sart] “1. What is the easiest way of getting the footage onto the edit suite? We will have 2 P2 cards so were going to shoot with one while getting footage from the other. How long does it take to get the footage from the cards onto the computer using the camera and Fi-Wire connection? “

    Shaun,

As far as I know, you can’t use your camera as the source for importing your P2 footage while shooting. It’s one or the other. I’d suggest you check out the Panasonic HVX – HVX(P2) forum for more information.

    Marc,

We’ve been using SmartSound/Sonic Fire Pro almost since their inception. We have all of the CD’s and are extremely happy with it. Our client’s and rival companies are always amazed by it. I don’t know what we would do without it. Below is a link to a video that I just finished for a friend of mine’s restaurant. His restaurant features “Blues music” via Muzak so he wanted a blues track on his video. Sonic Fire came thru flawlessly. Check it out.

[Shane Ross] “It is Panasonic’s equipment. Apple isn’t to blame for they write OS software, a few applications and make computers.”

    Shane,

I am extremely happy with the P2 workflow, the HVX200, and Final Cut Pro. However, before purchasing my 200 I did attend a 4 hour seminar in Miami sponsored by MidTown Video and co-hosted by Panasonic and Apple. One of the things I kept hearing was how closely they were working with each other.

I guess if I did put the blame on anyone it would have to be me for wanting a faster laptop and not being happy with my old G4.

[JeremyG] “both of which are very expensive”

I don’t know who to point the finger of blame at, Panasonic or Apple? They both seemed to have dropped the ball on this one.

    Darren,

I figured out what the problem was, me. I went on-line and discovered that FCP 5.1.2 has a preference called audio mapping. It’s in your Audio/Video Settings preference in the Device Control pane. Set your audio mapping to 2 channels and you should be OK.

Mike, That’s great. I intend to do the same when I get my camera. Where will I be able to access the clip at?
