I HAVE LOST THE CAPABILITY TO PERFORM AN AUDIO INSERT ON MY SONY BVW-75 AND UVW-1800. THE VIDEO INSERT WORKS FINE. THE DECKS JUST DON’T SEEM TO BE GETTING THE INSERT COMMAND FROM THE DECKLINK CARD. IF I DO A PRINT TO VIDEO THE AUDIO PLAYS BACK FINE.

I’m running OSX 10.4.8 on a Dual 2.5 G5 with 4 gig of ram. I have a Decklink Extreme card v 5.7.2. Also using FCP v 5.1.2. Everything was working fine yesterday. I already trashed my FCP preferences to no avail.

I have a similar set up to you AND the same problem.

    Decklink Extreme
    G5 Dual 2.5
    UVW-1800

I’ve been unsuccessful at figuring out the problem. Have you had any luck since your first post?

    Darren,

I figured out what the problem was, me. I went on-line and discovered that FCP 5.1.2 has a preference called audio mapping. It’s in your Audio/Video Settings preference in the Device Control pane. Set your audio mapping to 2 channels and you should be OK.

    Thanks Robb!

I tried it and it works. You’re a lifesaver.
