Jerry’s right, you see you make your graphics fit your video (already in a timeline) not the other way around. There’s size/aspect ratio/and pixel aspect ratio. (and a couple other things)

happened here the other day. As it turned out there was some audio in a track that we didn’t notice because it was all the way at the bottom and grayed out because it was muted.

did you reinstall the latest BlackMagic driver? I know you want to do that with the Kona drivers anytime you make a change/update to the system.

How about for now going in and adjusting the timecode triggers in the caption file. It’s really supposed to be picking up the TC numbers. They’re absolute, not relative to the very beginning of the project.

Try running through Compressor — you’ll get a lot more control over everything, including gamma, color, etc.
Export a reference file: a non-self contained MOV using current settings. Pull that into Compressor. Pick a MP4 with the bit rate you like. Go through and adjust frame size, final bit rate, color and audio controls. Submit it to a cluster that you’ve setup in Qmaster for better speed in rendering. You can also set it up to send it to the web for you, etc.

Pull out the record level pot on the front of the deck. Adjust the audio where you want/lay off that section/adjust for next section/etc.

Most of us are using -20 for the tone at the head of DigiBeta tapes. Just make sure it’s stated on the bars or slate.

that’s a really common issue.
I prefer rendering out as MP4 files with the h.264 codec. There hasn’t been a problem with the aspect ration when playing those in QT, or anywhere. Up the rendering speed by using a Qmaster render cluster coming out of compressor. If you have more than one machine you can setup a nice little render farm for all sorts of exports, not just the h.264

actually, if you look in the history like mike suggests, there’s a little magnifying glass icon. click on that and the finder will pop up with the file highlighted.
