I’ve got a 22min 1080p .mov file I want to convert to WMV. I’ve tried exporting from the source viewer and I’ve tried exporting as a sequence with the same results: a 4 min truncated file, although it otherwise plays correctly.

Not sure if I have a really need the Pro version of Flip4Mac since this might be a one time only use. Suggestions would be appreciated on converting a .mov file for playback on a 2009 Samsung LCD, which supports MKV, WMV & AVI but not QT.

    Thanks!

Yes you need the pro version because the non pro version will not let you export the full thing.

    PS
Questions about creating wmv files come up rather often. If you have any additional questions always to a search first.

    Hindsight is always 1080p

    Use MKV, it’ll look nicer

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

If it’s any use to anyone struggling to make decent mp4 / wmv files on a MAC, I found Streamclip gave consistently dissappointing results when used on the Mac, but then took the advice that Streamclip encodes these files much better on a Windows PC.

I installed the free Quicktime Player, then the free Streamclip (bless those guys) encoder, and very quickly was producing excellent H264 files that look very good on Windows Media Player and VLC Media Player.

    It worked for me, anyway.
