Vegas seems to have the slogan “Yesterdays technology today!”
As you year on year find out that version new shiny doesnt quite work properly until a few revisions on the build number appear.

October 3, 2012 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Render videoes with graphic card in sony vegas pro 11?I spotted this before I bought my new 3770K and bought the years old AMD 6870 GPU for just this reason.
It rendered out video at 1.2x real time so a 10 minute video with tons of effects and layers comes out rendering in about 8 minutes.
Looks like Vegas is picky over which cards it likes.

AMD 6870 (Sapphire card) 1024MB
Works perfectly with Vegas and the Sony Encoder for MP4
I bought it with my new PC as its the one they specified in the Vegas Pro 11 GPU web page.
I can render out a project in less than real time. Eg: 7 min video done in 5 minutes.

August 15, 2012 at 12:04 pm in reply to: SVP 11 – Rendered Sony AVC/MP4 file – audio seems to sit just slightly behind video? It seems to be out a touch too.
What I found last night was the sync on YouTube drifts out more and more depending on how long the video is :S
https://youtu.be/D8sQdSoP_m0?hd=1&t=12m6s
Thats at 12 minutes.
EDIT: add the ?hd=1&t=12m6s to end of link

August 14, 2012 at 9:52 am in reply to: SVP 11 – Track FX – Where did the little timeline go at the bottom? Thanks for that – is there a quick link to say a Youtube video showing how to use the new mini timeline feature? Had a play yesterday and after trying to add a brightness and contrast plugin and moving the timeline around (in a similar way to 8) it ended up just keeping the effect live all the time. Was on the clock so couldnt mess around with it much unfortunately.
Thanks

Its all in the title 😉
I’ll give another encoder a shot later, dont really want to use something else as Mainconcept is dog shit, especially with GPU rendering enabled it looks like crap.
Will give it all a go later tho. In the meantime a workaround (dont we love Vegas and its work arounds) is to make project, grab audio and move it backwards 2 frames

Is there a “whats new” style of document around where I can find out the differences between versions?
Thanks again – I feel dumb now LOL!

4.40 would be an example – I did put the link in the YouTube URL but this forum software stripped it out – doh!

Its not the latest or greatest but Im running 3 monitors off it (all 1920×1080) and it just rendered out a 1080p MP4 file with about 6 layers in LESS than real time.
6 minute MP4 that would have taken maybe 30-50 mins on my old PC (Q6600 @ 3.5GHz) took 5 minutes with Sony AVC rendering GPU assisted.
That is something else!
