when a link goes to a timeline, chapter point or otherwise, then it also plays video associated with that timeline. Perhaps you could research “hot buttons” on a video but in my opinion, even if that would work, it is the most difficult way to make this work. I would think it would be very simple and easy to take your original audio file and edit it into 10 files, or just rip the CD into 10 files.

There’s usually many ways to accomplish the same end result and maybe someone else has a shortcut method.

You will need to create 11 menus. The first play menu would be silent. When you click on the first song button it will go to the second menu which has the first song as audio. Don’t set it to loop unless you want to hear the first song over and over again. Same for each additional menu – each song has it’s own menu. You could just do 10 menus if you want the first song to start playing automatically.

UPDATE – Plugged the reader into a different computer and there are many other folders on the disc that did not appear when I first copied. I am confident this will resolve.

Set end action to go back to the start of your timeline.

We had a similar issue but I believe was specifically related to Facilis TerraBlock and not ISIS and was related to iMac and has been solved – Our missing audio was OMFI not MXF. Just throwing that out though I doubt it has any relevance to your issue.

  • On Win 7, MC 8.5.3, QT Playet 7.7.8 – Linked and transcoded fine to DNxHD 220 MXF. It came in as audio 1-4 mono channels and 5 and 7 as stereo channels.

Tried to import keeping file resolution and failed (consistency check) – tried to import changing resolution to MXF and got audio error like you posted. The file is 32 bit audio, not sure if that could cause problems on “importing”.

They need to link and Consolidate/Transcode. I would think it should import as well but I LINK to everything currently and prefer that workflow.

Is the AE using the same version of Avid? One work around would be to bake the color transformations in during transcode.

  • You say importing, have you tried to link to see if the link works or plays? What version Avid? What does movie inspector in QT say about the audio?

    Ricky

  • Same as in timeline or record window – using audio mixer to adjust levels before editing into timeline. I do not believe you can use keyframing on the source but you can change levels and pans.

  • I would uninstall and reinstall MC first.
