What Neil says is correct, however, I have found this must become a site setting and/or you must check the media creation settings every time you boot the app. Also, this does NOT keep “Audio Suite” renders from going to the C Drive unless you go to something like import and click apply to ALL. This is most aggravating. I am the only editor that consistently keeps media off the C Drive but I check Medai Creation Settings religiously, immediately and every time I open the app. – so my advice is train students to do this as a part of the workflow, else they will find their stuff offline when they come to work here because I delete all media on C Drive without question – it has proven to be the best teacher to our contract editors. 🙂

Happening to me on PC on both MC versions 6.0.1 and 6.0.3.2 — Pan and Zoom has always had issues, usually locking up after a few uses (maybe memory related) but this bug, exactly as you describe (verbatim error message) won’t even let me use the effect. The app locks when trying to save after applying effect. I have even tried a new sequence with ONLY the effect applied to one image – nothing else in the sequence to cause problems.

It used to work on 5.5 – I haven’t had it work on 6.0.3 – I think it is a bug.

Sorenson will work with Avid DNxHD if Avid is installed on the computer OR if you have installed the codecs, which can be downloaded for free and installed.

Only if the “highlight” has a solid with new name over that solid that covers over the original name. You can’t “turn off” the original name, only cover it up.

When we link and transcode, we delete the linked “clip” and use the “.new” file. You can edit a SEQ and transcode what you want then relink to the transcoded files and ignore the AMA links or delete them since you can always link again. Don’t know if this is what you’re asking.

We’re on ver. 6.0.3, PC – holding CTL and double clicking opens in title tool – maybe they broke that function with version 6.5?

you should be able to CTL double-click (on PC) on the title in the bin and it will open in the title tool.

Hey Shane,
A side question here, I know both Consolidate and Transcode are much faster than importing but are you saying Consolidate is faster than Transcode? Does the Avid process the conversion to MXF differently?Thanks
