Audio Mix tool – you can boost entire channel using in/out marks and the hamburger menu

There is also in MC 7 a “Master fader” for control over the entire timeline.

Looks like you’re doing everything correctly. Saw several posts about this so you might look into a few things:
1 – See if you have any RTAS Plugins in use (a workaround may be to do audio mixdown)
2 – On Windows 7, make sure DEP is disabled (right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced Settings, Performance
3 – Short of fresh install you can try rebooting and/or try Programs and Features in control panel and “repair” Avid MC

Google brought these up from Avid Knowledge base and Avid Community Forums as recently as Feb. 2014 – seems to be an intermittent bug, possibly corrupt drivers?

Is audio AMA linked? What is the media type … MXF? What are your QT Ref export settings?

John is spot on – you need spec details from your specific “broadcaster”. XDCam50 in MXF wrapper will likely be around 25 to 30 GB. I have had difficulty finding a “standard” as it is usually broadcaster specific (major network, Cable, Dish, Satellite, Local etc.)

  • most of the time I usually bail on remembering how and just do a video mixdown without background and add the effect to that.

silly question as there does seem to be files with .mfx BUT are they .mxf? Have you tried renaming the extension .mxf to see if that resolves anything? you can always rename back to .mfx.

There are several tools (at least for windows) that open and/or repair .mfx files.

I don’t understand the problem of the titles missing. If you create a title it will go to the media folder on a drive; Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1 — so if you are missing media then you don’t have the original drive connected and/or there are corrupt database files inside the numbered folder. Avid can have up to 99 folders (1 – 99) but from what you are saying I would think you would just have one folder (1).

If you do have the drive and folders connectd you can delete these files – .mdb and .pmr and Avid will rebuild them when you open the app – this should eliminate corrupt database files.

I have found on our systems that we must relink each time we reopen a project – other than the hassle it doesn’t affect clip naming or sequence edits.
