Thanks Michael – I just purchased Support for 11 dongles, downloaded 8.2 and activated with dongle after updating it. Everything went fine on 8.2
I posted a question on Avid Community, asking if I was reading correctly that 8.3 is supposed to be installed on top of 8.2 WITHOUT UNINSTALLING first. That may be the issue – guess I could try that as I am still waiting for a response from them since I reinstalled 8.2 and all is fine again.

December 18, 2014 at 3:51 pm in reply to: add edit vs match frame edit – Remove match frame edit“Match Frame Edit” is an actual edit that is an edit in video or audio track that is seamless, meaning no changes have been made to the media on either side of the edit. “Match Frame Edits” can be added or removed using the tools. They both exist. You cannot remove a “Match Frame Edit” using “Remove Match Frame” that is not a “true” match frame – it is not a “True” match frame edit if any changes have been made to the media on either side of the “added edit” even if the changes are not noticeable and appear seamless by eye or ear.
“Match Frame” (not edit) is what I described earlier.

December 18, 2014 at 12:06 pm in reply to: add edit vs match frame edit – Remove match frame editAdd edit adds an edit on any track whether filler or media.
Match frame matches the exact frame of media from a sequence (record monitor) at the current position of the blue line and loads that frame with in point to the source monitor — if multiple media exists at that point then it will be dependent upon what track is selected.
Remove match frame removes any/all match frame edits between in/out markers on the tracks selected. It must be a true match frame with no adjustments on either side of the edit video or audio, meaning the ” = ” sign must be white and not red.

December 1, 2014 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Unable to AMA Link to C300 Files (Media Composer 7.0.4)If you are AMA linked then you should not be missing any plugins – If you are having trouble with playback then you need to transcode, which is the proper workflow and is generally mandatory in almost all cases. Always transcode to Avid DNxHD media to avoid headaches later 🙂

If not AMA linked we export a QT ref to Sorenson – there you can change Baseline/Main/High on H.264-MP4

A workaround would be to just overwrite at the edit point with your new audio or stagger on another audio track.

18 button limitation – I believe this is per DVD Spec and not Encore.
