I failed to ask what version MC you are using and if it is the same as the online house. You will also need to export same as source and if you have mixed DNxHD then you will need to do a video mixdown to DNxHD 115 to have the QT deliverable to specs.

Did you check “Direct Out in both “audio settings” and in “export settings”? Also in audio settings you should be able to patch audio channels if it does not default to 1=1, 2=2 etc.

Very annoying! You Must shift+select individual or mark in-out around the range of keyframes you want to adjust simultaneously. No setting to change that of which I am aware.

Animmate is like a mask – moving the mask will not move the object. With keyframes you can track a moving object but this mask doesn’t move the object itself.

Possibly I am misunderstanding your issue?

  • Go to “Special” enable or select “Render on the Fly”

Project settings? Image Size? Workflow such as importing or linking to the file via pan/scan/zoom? More info. might help troubleshooting. Thanks!

I have a semi-related question as the conversation just came up today. If the canon, when recording on the internal SD card, records at 24 Mbps, what should we transcode to in Avid? Is it wasting our media storage space to transcode at DNxHD 100? We can’t get better than we start with, right? Can we save space and transcode to 45?

And if money is no option there is the new “Avid Everywhere” – I know nothing about this other than it exists now.

Ahh, I assumed you already had everything, including media at home. It might get messy if you consolidate, chance on not having all media at your disposal. There are many ways to accomplish what you want to do and someone more knowledgeable than me could probably be more helpful.

If it were that necessary for me and I was editing for extended periods away from work, I would bite the bullet and copy the project and all media to take with me. Upon returning to work i would replace the entire project file (very small file size) and I would only copy the new media created at home (based on dates) from my home drive back to my work media drive.

As I said, others may know a better way.
