At Harbor Freight, you have to look for “hand truck” to get a display of possible dollies. “Dolly” does not yield the right results.

Actually, the Bescor is pretty bad. Look at the online reviews. I made the mistake of buying one. Impossible to make a smooth vertical tilt, though the horizontal pans are OK. For very little more (though no ball leveling) you can get a pretty good and pretty cheap Manfrotto head/sticks combination: https://tinyurl.com/2w3q38 I just bought one and am happy. The head appears to be a true “fluid head”. You do have to pay close attention to make silky compound moves, but you certainly can do them using a light and balanced touch. Far better than the light Libec.

Thanks. In the past, plug-ins migrated each time I moved to a newer Vegas. Of course, this time I had to reinstall everything, and forgotten that at the start I’d done that. (I thought Vegas would automatically find and use them.) My duh, and thanks for the reminder.

I tried Cinescore was deeply underwhelmed. Soundbooth looks possibly to be a much more interesting software. For instance:
“if you can see the sound, then you can select it — and if you can select it, then you can edit and remove it. Soundbooth (and Audition) turn audio clean-up into the same kind of visual editing you are used to with Photoshop. First select the offending audio — draw a rectangle, or even choose an arbitrary region with the lasso. Then tone down the sound by reducing its volume, or, even better, use Auto Heal to actually remove the selected noise, much like Photoshop’s Healing Brush. However, the beta has very limited audio abilities, and includes only 3 usable scores. Also, I don’t know how you can determine the real cost since “Pricing is to be determined.”
As I have written elsewhere, for adding music I much prefer to find what I like for the video I’m editing at https://www.freeplaymusic.com/ and then slice and dice within Vegas. However, that’s not for everyone. Possibly Soundbooth will be worth the price. Certainly the cleanup aspect with “heal” looks very enticing. I suspect that the cost be steep, as it’s another Adobe product.

You might try doing a search of posts here and at that other Vegas forum. The advantages of Vegas over Final Cut Pro have been spelled out in detail. The advantages over other systems has been less detailed, but there have been many posts.
I used the Movie Studio version briefly when I was helping out a neighbor. I was very, very impressed at how this stripped down version has roughly 80% of the full bore system. Further, Movie Studio really holds the hand of the user with extremely helpful guides on how to do each step.
Since the cost is so low, and you can try it for free for a month, perhaps the powers that be can be led to where you want them to go by a hands-on experience (possibly with your over-the-shoulder help.)
