Making color changes a-la-CSI Miami
I’ve been playing with the color correctors and color curves trying to copy the color change fx as done on the tv show CSI Miami where they shift ONLY the color of the sky, from say blue to yellow WITHOUT changing the colors on anything else. I havn’t found the right combination.
Any suggestions?

For selective color fx try playing with the Secondary Color tool – lots of control over specific color ranges.

There’s a terrific 6-color control fx for Vegas, free: https://moosehill.se/ — select “6cc color corrector”. Great for treating individual colors.

In CSI everything is warmed up… it’s chronic sunset on that show. The colors are all shifted to a much warmer tone, and then they seem to throw a sunset grad filter on a lot of the shots to make the sky even more orange (or do it in post).
Use the Vegas color corrector and shift your mid-tones to the orange spectrum. You’ll see your sky should change with it. You might need to tweak the highlights a bit, depending on the exposure of your sky (it won’t work on an overcast shot – has to be a blue sky).
