Ok,
I tried to upgrade to 8.1 to see if that would do the trick. It said “no database connected” and asked if I wanted to upgrade my database.
I hit upgrade, and it said this.
“Failed to upgrade database: Failed to apply patch
patch_8.0.0.78_8.1.0.110 to database Local_DB: ERROR:
index “BtPathIngo_SM_Clip_id_idx” contains
unexpected zero page at block 38
HINT: Please REINDEX it
QPSQL: Unable to create query” -
It gives me the same error when I try to Export+

Ok, tested some other projects, its not allowing me to save anything, gives me the same error message.

Although, what if I miss some of those issues in the scene detection page? Is it possible to make those fixes in the conform page?
-
Great, I’ll give that a shot.
I noticed that some of the clips were on different parts of the timeline… so in some cases I just had to move them back into place.
I noticed this happened where there were speed changes. As I’ve just found that speed changes to not translate

From my understanding, Company 3, Technicolor and EFilm utilize Resolve to grade the highest grossing films in the world.
I would say that those colorists are at the highest end possible. What tools are Resolve lacking that Filmmaster and Baselight have?

I think the point he may be trying to make is that now clients will see DaVinci Resolve based grading facilities as cheap alternatives to the big iron/talented places.
It is BMDs responsibility to remind people that many of the biggest/most successful/blockbuster films in the world are graded on Resolve. As long as this message rings clear throughout the industry I believe everyone will stop whining and get back to worrying about the quality of work, not gear snobbery.
I think we just need to look at Editorial to see where things are going. I believe Walter Murch cuts at home on FCP primarily?

Two colorists grade an image of a warehouse.
– 50 year seasoned colorist adds contrast, desat, a power window, some slight mist around the edges.
– 2 year colorist comes in, very similar results..in fact I like they way he put some blue in the shadows. It’s going to be harder and harder for clients to discerne between a high end guy and a guy who just knows how to do it…this will be the biggest hurdle for anyone who considered themselves a special-ist to jump over.
Oh, this just in, Alex Hurkmans book on color grading was the best seller.
…This just in, Color Grading a top career choice for the hundreds of thousands of film graduates world wide.A facility typically only needs one colorist.
This all adds up to what directing, acting and editing all experience, extreme saturation of their profession.
Cream rises to the top? Or will it just be a very creamy beverage?
