    Todd,

yes I have a couple like this. Been doing this kind of capture for Sooooooo many years. That’s why I’m pretty certain I have ruled out a bad or incorrect cable.

    index.bdmv
    JAR
    META

    OK

think I figured ti out FINALLY. Sorry for the panic. The material WAS transcoding, it was just doing it in the background and I didn’t realize it was taking. So I think I just need to do a batch and go have a beer and come back.

    Sorry again for the freakout.

    Thanks for all responses,

yes Xpress does NOt do AMA I’ve learned an the bandwidth was indeed an issue as well. In the end, doesn’t matter as I was able to edit onsite so all is well. Good info moving forward.

One last followup – Can Xpress pro read Media composer projects and vice versa?

The FCP sequence settings are 1280×720, HDTV 720p 16×9 aspect ratio, square pixels, no field dominance, compressor h.264, 48 khz audio.

    Ideas?

    Robert,

yes, They’re both MAc. I just did a test on a standard NTSC DV sequence and it successfully imported, so I’m thinking that not using DV codecs might be an issue. The main codec I am working with is H.264. If I need to install into premiere, is there a tutorial that helps explain how and where to do it?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the help.

ON a similar front, have a followup. I have another customer that has a premiere project that I’m trying to import into FCP. I exported the premiere project into FCP XML.

When I import into FCP, items appear, sequences and layout looks good. The problem is I can’t see any of the elements in the Viewer, even with reconnecting media and rendering. Am I missing something?

    Mike,

thx for the response. we’re trying to bypass going to digi-beta altogether, ergo all this testing.

SO I should stay with prores, set fps to 25, 720×576, and ADDITIONALLY set upper field preference, and scale UP & adjust the content to anamophic 720×576?

    please confirm I have it.
