The way I understand is you need Quicktime Pro and there is an “export to ipod” option.

Somewhere I came across the exact specs on the web but that link has gone away. It was on the Apple site but I can’t find it anymore. 🙁

uncompressed alpha 8 bit will work but you’ve overlooked onemore setting – under colours you want “millions+”. It defaults to “millions”.

Good requests. I too would like to see TC rolling as we digitize.

Add to that the ability to type in description as it’s digitizing. Discreet had that for years, new NLE’s (velocityHD) still don’t have it. I wonder what the voodoo was that allowed only Edit to do this? 🙂

Also the tab order needs work. If you tab… tab… to the Description, tab down to the next field, forget something and shift tab it doesn’t go up a box it goes ‘somewhere else’.

Monitoring of audio downstream with levels is on my wishlist but I can live without that, and I know of a workaround using the Mac internal speakers. Whatever, all hacks to me.

I must be missing something.

With Boris titler I have no idea how big my text is going to be as I type. The UI seems to grow and shrink depending on how many characters I type.

There is no title safe.

Depending on how big or small my fonts are or if its one line or two, changes where the text is rendered on the FCP timeline. If I need text to appear in EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE every time it won’t do it. And if I go from a one liner to a two liner, that’s a big deal in the Motion tab of the clip.

Livetype has come closest, and it is very nice with the animation and everything. Active frame of video from FCP is such a common request I’m sure it will come soon enough.

Select all the clips you want to receive the attributes. Right click. Paste attributes. 🙂

Virtual Dub on PC has a very capable noise reduction algorithm. It’s very time consuming but I’ve used it on VHS footage and it works.

That CMD OPT L is great.

I created one coming from Discreet that not a lot of FCP users know about:

I mapped “/” to Sequence>Add Edit. It’s like bb + left click but you can use it while playing a timeline and playback won’t stop! Great for chopping up voice overs.
