Could be. If FCS was a big bulky “pro” app, why isn’t a MacPro a big bulky computer. It’s not really sexy at all. Doesn’t seem to fit where they are headed with slick, thin glossy little devices and a app store chock full of dollar signs.
Good call. The Mac Pro is dead.

We are very much shared here on 5 FCP systems. Shared files on every computer all gigabit ethernet….major issue here.

Even easier, just export from QT player to ProRes at 23.976 and when you make the new clip all will be well.
If you don’t and you bring it into FCP as is (with the incorrect frame rate flag) it will play at that slower frame rate and look super slo mo (about 30% speed from the actual rate).

We have been praised for posting rates. Client see that we too have not changed our rates in an eternity and we are fair.
It also makes it easy for them to do their own quick budget based on X number of hours. We have DVD duplication rates as well.
So in this world of radical transparency, eventually everyone will know your rates anyway. And if your competition tries to tell everyone you are more expensive, they can look on you site and see that they were flat wrong.
Google search video contract and you will get a ton of info to create your own….don’t forget to add your own design touches and make it your own.

It also depends if you will work on their system (typically less per hour) or at your own office on your system (more per hour).
$40-$60 per hour on their system to start.
$60-$125 per hour on your system.
Assuming someone who is just starting out in a decent market.
